Menomonee Falls scored 16 straight points starting with less than a minute in the third quarter, lifting the Indians to a 55-46 win over Germantown Dec. 17.
A Germantown basket with 59 seconds left in the third quarter left Menomonee Falls with a 36-33 lead. But Menomonee Falls converted a basket on the other end 20 seconds later and Haley Precia finished the quarter by converting a free throw.
Menomonee Fall then opened the fourth quarter with baskets by Mikayla Robertson, Erin Crownover, Alex Poole and and Erin Otzelberberger to continue the rally, which ended with a basket by Germantown's Sarah Artz with 4:28 left in the game and Menomonee Falls holding a 52-35 lead. Germantown ended the game with a 6-1 run.
Rachel Defnet led Menomonee Falls with 13 points while Amber Bullock and Erin Crownover both added 12 points. Courtney Merhing and Lauren Grotjahn were the leading scorers for Germantown with nine points each.
An early lead against Kettle Moraine Lutheran wasn't enough for Germantown, as the Chargers turned the tables and left the Warhawks trying to catch up on the way to a 50-44 loss.
Germantown jumped out to 8-1 lead in the first three minutes of the game on three point baskets by Sarah Artz and Courtney Mehring and a layup by Artz. But Kettle Moraine Lutheran cut into the Germantown lead and a layup and converted free throw by Andrea Meinert cut the Germatnown lead to 14-11 after the first quarter.
The Chargers opened the second quarter with a three point basket, starting a 10-2 run that gave Kettle Moraine Lutheran a 21-16 lead following a layup by Ashley Zander. The Chargers held a six point lead for most of the the second quarter.
A layup by Karlee Schneiss gave the Charges a 34-24 lead at the 7:10 mark of the third quarter, but Germantown rallied and a layup by Taylor Higginbotham cut the Chargers lead to 38-26 with 1:25 left in the third quarter. But a six-point run in the fourth quarter gave Kettle Moraine Lutheran a 50-39 lead with 2:27 left in the game after a basket by Meghan Niemann.
Meinert led all scorers with 22 points wihle Artz led Germantown with 10 points.
