Germantown Senior Center membership available for $12/year
For a fee of $12–or $1 per month–seniors can purchase a year’s membership to the Germantown Senior Activity Center.
The fee covers a variety of classes, events and activities, including: day trips and extended tours; arts and crafts classes; computer classes; an annual picnic; the holiday bazaar, bake sale and Christmas party; and games such as pool, Wii, darts, cards, dominoes and bingo.
Anyone who has ideas or would like to learn more may attend a meeting held the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. The center is located at W162N11960 Park Ave. For more information, call (262) 253-7799.
Warhawk Band Boosters to host annual golf outing Aug. 4
The Warhawk Band Boosters will hold its 8th Annual Golf Outing Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Blackstone Creek Golf Club in Germantown.
The popular community event kicks off with a shotgun start at 11 a.m., with golfers of all ability levels playing 18 holes in a scramble format and enjoying lunch during their round. A pig roast dinner at Richfield Chalet follows with a cash bar at 4 p.m., golf award program at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. After-dinner entertainment includes a live auction, student variety show and a performance from Germantown High School’s high-energy, award-winning Wall of Sound.
Lunch, golf, dinner and entertainment are included in the $100 fee; however, an option is available to attend the dinner and entertainment portions only for $30.

Senior Center offers foot and nail clinic
The Germantown Senior Center offers a Toenail Trimmers LLC Foot & Nail Clinic the first and third Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each appointment lasts 30 minutes and consists of a foot massage, moisturizing and thorough foot assessment. Seniors will also be assessed for illnesses that affect foot care and provided with self-help information on foot and nail care and properly fitting shoes. Those interested should sign up at the senior center. The cost is $23.
Historical Society invites to
community to explore Dhiensville
The Germantown Historical Society invites the public to take in some local history by visiting the Valentine Wolf Haus, Christ Church of Local History Museum and Sila Bast Bell Museum. As an added touch, families of the original settlers are often available to be volunteer tour guides. To arrange a tour, call Jane Riley Best, Museum Director, at (262) 628-3170.
Germantown Historical Society seeking volunteers
The Germantown Historical Society is looking for adult and teen volunteers to help at the three museums with shifts that will run 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Activities could include giving tours of the museums, assisting guests with disabilities, general cleaning, organizing and helping out at the Hunsrucker Oktoberfest the last weekend in September. Teens should note this is an opportunity to fill NHS hours, or meet confirmation requirements. Those interested should call (262) 628-3170.
