Germantown junior center Luke Fischer has made a verbal commitment to play basketball at Indiana University, several Web sites reported over the weekend.

Several websites reported that Fischer was in attendance as Indiana upset No. 2 ranked Ohio State 74-70 Dec. 31.

The Web site www.insidethehall.com, which is focused on Indiana University men's basketball, quoted Fischer as saying he made the decision after talking with Indiana University men's basketball Coach Tom Crean after the Ohio State game.

“It feels great. I’m excited. I kind of want it to come quicker, but I have some business to finish at high school. It also feel like a lot of weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can just focus on my high school team now. It feels great, it really does," Fischer told insidethehall.com.

Fischer is ranked as the No. 96th player nationally by Scout.com. According to www.wissports.net, other schools that have been recruiting Fischer included Marquette, Creighton, Iowa and Boston College.
