Summer movies at the Falls library
The Menomonee Falls Public Library has chosen two recent popular films as the July Tuesday/Thursday Monthly Movies on July 20 and 22. Both movies will be presented in the library’s Meeting/Community Room off the main lobby. Admission is free to all ages, based on the movie’s rating. The times, synopsis, and ratings are as follows:
•2:15 PM, Tues., July 20 and 6:45 Thurs., July 22 : “Bounty Hunter” (2010). Starring Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler, and Christine Baranski. A not-too-successful bounty hunter gets his dream assignment: bring in his bail-jumping ex-wife! It turns out to not only be a whole lot harder than he expected, but they both find themselves on the run, together, trying to stay alive. Rated PG-13, 110 minutes.
•6:45 PM, Tues., July 20 and 2:15 PM Thurs., July 22: “The Young Victoria” (2009). Starring Emily Blunt, Rupert Friend, Paul Bettany, and Miranda Richardson. Tale of the teen-aged Victoria coming of age and ascending to the throne, while all around her family and those around her try to control her destiny and power. Rated PG, 105 minutes

Falls district budget hearing July 26
The third Public Budget Hearing for the School District of Menomonee Falls will be held on Monday, July 26th, at 6:15 p.m., at the Village Hall Board Room. This public hearing will precede the regular Board meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m.
Director of Business Services, Mr. Jeff Gross, will highlight the development of the budget and the likely tax impact on residents for the 2010-2011 school year.
Falls Fest July 22-25

Civil War Encampment at Old Falls Village July 17-18
The Civil War Encampment will be held at Old Falls Village July 17 and 18. Old Falls Village is located at the southwest corner of Pilgrim and County Line roads. Battle re-enactments will occur both days and there will be displays of weapons, guns and the firing of a cannon. The Fifth Wisconsin re-enactors will perform on July 17. and the Regimental Volunteer Band of Wisconsin will perform on July 18. There will be presentations by speakers at 3 p.m. on both days.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 14 while children under age 6 can enter for free.
Falls district Honors Majdecki’s Sentry Foods
At the District’s end of year breakfast on June 11th, the School District of Menomonee Falls honored Sentry Foods with a Bill Pierce Partners in Education Award. The award, named in honor of the late William Pierce, a school district administrator, honors companies, businesses, and community organizations for their support of education.
Sentry Foods was recognized for their many school activities:
• Partner with High School Family and Consumer Education Program
• Contributed a major donation for the completion of Schumann Stadium ticket booths
• Hosts Superintendent monthly visits
• Special partner with High School Booster Club
• "Kids Day" Proceeds
• July 3rd Parade Proceeds
• Hosts School Music Groups at holiday time
• Hosts Dance Team every 3rd Saturday – Hot dog fundraiser
•Many, many more donations to school groups and partner with youth groups and activities in Menomonee Falls. Owners Ted and Joan Majdecki and Store Manager, Don Pfeiffer were on hand to receive the award.
Superintendent Keith Marty stated that Majdecki Sentry Foods is one of the many community partners who day in and day out support students, teachers, and school organizations. "We are so fortunate to have such a school friendly and child orientated organization in Menomonee Falls."
Lisbon Community Park hosts Wave camp Aug. 16-20
Milwaukee Wave defender Troy Dusosky is the site director for the Wave Summer Soccer Camp at Lisbon Community Park in Sussex, Aug. 16-20.
Dusosky was named second-team All-MISL this season, leading the Wave to the MISL Regular Season Championship.
Head Coach Keith Tozer and the Wave again host more than 50 sessions of Wisconsin’s most popular summer soccer camp at sites throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Players ages 4-17 will find a camp fitting their skill level and interest. Parents will enjoy discounts of as much as $50 per session for additional campers. This applies to multiple campers from the same family or additional weeks for the same camper, and includes Overnight Academies.
As always, professional Wave players coach at every camp, instructing players on fundamentals of technique and tactics. Every camper receives a T-shirt, camp ball, tickets to four 2010-11 Wave games and certificate of participation in addition to their instruction. Full-day camps also offer lunch breaks with Pizza Hut pizza for an additional cost.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running professional soccer team in the country. The Wave completed their 26th season by winning the Major Indoor Soccer League regular season championship. Their summer camp program is the largest team-operated program in the country.
